Meditative

Although gentle postures are used in the Yin, Restorative and chill classes these practices are definitely more the mind. Regular practice can help reduce stress, anxiety, lower blood pressure, improve sleep and help you work more productively.

Yin.

An antidote to our busy, hectic lives and is a calming balance for the body and mind, a chance to be still, be present, and work within while you breathe and stretch in mostly passive poses focusing on deep connective tissues, bones, joints, fascia, and ligaments in the body. A peaceful, mind clearing class for all levels.

 

For Seniors.

The benefits of yoga for seniors in particular include improved mobility, a reduced fear of falling, and enhanced quality of life. Regular classes help with mobility, relaxation, meditation, reduce aches and pains, maintain muscle strength, and improves general strength and fitness.

 

Facial.

Doing facial exercises, or Facial Yoga, is a completely natural way to make your face look younger by toning the muscles. Even if you workout regularly, you probably neglect these muscles. Just clenching your face muscles improves blood circulation, which produces a healthy glow and more youthful appearance. Facial Yoga helps make your jawbone more prominent, enhances the cheekbones and shreds the excess fat in your face.

Restorative.

Relax and soothe frayed nerves. It differs from yin yoga through the use of bolsters, blankets, and blocks to prop students into passive poses so the body can experience the benefits of a pose without having to exert any effort. A Tall Trees restorative class is more rejuvenating than a nap. Tall Trees offers this class on Friday, when just about everyone could use some profound rest.

 

Meditation.

We use guided meditation in our meditation classes, which is sometimes also called guided imagery or visualisation. This is a method of meditation in which you form mental pictures or situations that you find relaxing. During the class you will be encouraged to use as many senses as possible, such as smell, sounds, and textures, to evoke calmness in your relaxing space.

Kriya

Kriya yoga is often referred to as the yoga of action and awareness. It is an ancient meditation technique that uses breathwork, mantras and mudras to awaken the kundalini energy within us. With regular practice you can achieve inner peace and a oneness with the universe.
